Data & Analytics Manager - North

To meet this growing demand, we are significantly investing in our practice to offer a wide range of data-related services, from data governance and data quality, through to strategy development, visualisation and advanced modelling and analytics.
We are currently looking for an experienced data practitioner to join our fast growing Data & Analytics in Assurance (DAA) team. We have ambitious plans and are looking for individuals who can develop and build our go-to-market propositions and excel in client delivery.

Our DAA team work with clients to deliver crucial insight through data analytics, advanced modelling and data visualisation. We also help our clients to establish the right controls, processes and structures to ensure that decisions are based on accurate information. We often assure that information and data provided to regulators and third parties is accurate, complete and can be trusted.

About the role

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join our DAA team. People with the right blend of hands-on data experience, an eye for innovation to help us build client offerings and an understanding of the markets in which we work.
As a member of the DAA team in the North you will be responsible for:
Leading the delivery of Data & Analytics projects on client site which includes:
Leading the delivery team
Client stakeholder management
Project financials including billing
Ensuring the quality of the project deliverables.
Building and maintaining relationships both internally within the PwC network and externally with clients by establishing credibility through your knowledge, approach and professionalism;
Supporting business development by identifying opportunities at clients you are working with or by developing client proposals;
Establishing credibility internally and externally with your knowledge, approach, and professionalism through attending external events and conferences.
Keeping abreast of new innovations in data and analytics; and
Helping to develop propositions and delivery methodologies.
Experience in the design and delivery of data/analytics related solutions across a number of areas which may include:
Information Management: Experience in the design and delivery of data related solutions across a number of technical areas including data warehousing, master data management, data migration and data integration
MI, BI & Visualisation: Experience in the design and delivery of MI and reporting solutions using a variety of market leading toolsets.
Information Governance & Strategy: Experience in defining, developing and embedding data and information governance frameworks for clients and also experienced in developing data and analytics strategies which includes evaluating current state processes, developing future state designs and developing operating models and data roadmaps.
Analytics and AI: Experience of assisting clients in the development of AI capabilities whether that be Robotics Process Automation, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning or Natural Language Processing.
In addition candidates should be experienced in a subset of the market leading data and analytics toolsets that includes ETL (SSIS, Informatica), Database (Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, Graph databases, NoSql), MI/BI tools (Power BI, Qlik and Tableau) or Analytics tools (SPSS, SAS, R, DataRobot)
Ability to work to a structured method and delivery approach. The candidate understands where waterfall, iterative and agile approaches can be applied to a data related project.
Ability to understand and describe typical issues with data, such as poor quality within business systems and how this can be resolved;
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of technical and non-technical business stakeholders;
Ability to articulate a business issue and potential impact without resorting to technical language;
Project management, specifically working to budgets and deadlines with multiple deliverables;
Working flexibly and effectively across different teams for varying periods of time.
Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities; and
Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
Knowledge of impending or upcoming regulation such as GDPR, BCBS239 or Making Tax Digital
Deep industry knowledge in at least one of the following industries: Financial Services (Retail Banking, Insurance, Consumer Credit), Retail, Consumer Products, Transport & Logistics, Health, Housing or Local Government
Certified in a a technical toolset e.g. Microsoft or SAS.
