About the team
This is an exciting time for Resource Management as we build on the professionalism of our people and work closely with the business to develop and implement PwC business and people strategy. PwC's Resource Management (RM) team has been centralised to assist the firm in being more agile and providing the right people on the right projects at the right time.
This role will be based both in EP/ML in London and will have 3 direct Resource Manager reports and their Officers.
About the role
The key responsibilities of this role:
Drive the team to deliver operationally whilst occupying the strategic space to deliver 1RM, BU and Tax priorities
Manage the team by optimising headcount, manage/oversee joiners, leavers and secondments, increasing utilisation and being aware of the impact on employee engagement and development
Be proactive in relation to the supply and demand challenges of deployment
Utilise Management Information to bring insight for your business function by identifying trends and key risks
Engage with a wide range of stakeholders to understand their priorities and develop strategies for execution by your team
Work in close partnership with other key functions to ensure you are delivering in line with the firm’s wider strategy
Promote the use of key resourcing systems to enable effective and efficient resourcing
Share knowledge and best practice with your teams to upskill and
provide the best possible service to the firm
Coach and develop members of your team and lead by example
Essential skills and experience
Technical Expertise:
Deployment and Manpower Planning
Accountable to the business for all deployment and planning
Responsible for Setting and driving the direction for the resourcing team
Monitoring progress regularly against goals and objectives
Providing a strategic focus on deployment and workforce utilisation
Driving change and project management initiatives
Knowledge and Skills:
Relationship Skills including communicating and Influencing
Develop and sustain long term relationships with key stakeholders
Promote One RM as an integral partner, driving the success of the business
Strategy and Change Management:
Shaping and driving the firm’s agenda in One RM
Demonstrating agile thinking and innovative problem solving
Leading on the identification, design and implementation of change, managing risks and working with stakeholders to drive initiatives in line with strategy
Stakeholder Management:
Anticipating the issues and concerns of the stakeholders and providing strategic advice and support
Providing long term and sustainable solutions to the business
Commercial Acumen and Financial Management:
Asking the big questions of the business and looking more broadly for
solutions across lines of service
Removing obstacles to create opportunities to help deliver our strategic objectives.
Utilising information effectively to lead organizational thinking
Challenging, sharing and connecting across the business
Monitoring trends and developments and sharing this among the team and peers
Team and Personal Development:
Empowering and delegating to your team to develop their skills
Shaping and driving team and personal objectives in line with the wider RM strategy
Disseminating and sharing relevant business and industry information with your team
Role Modelling appropriate coaching behaviours
Leading on the recruitment activities for your team
Who we’re looking for
To enable us to deliver our strategy, we are seeking Senior Managers or Assistant Directors from various industries who have experience:
Leading, coaching and mentoring a team to deliver outcomes in a fast paced and changing environment
Influencing and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the RM team is considered a strategic partner with the business
Identifying opportunities to improve profitability through resource optimisation strategies and techniques
Utilising management information to provide insightful and commercially robust solutions to the business
