About the role:

Our London Top-Tier business unit provides assurance and advisory services to a range of large clients from a diverse range of industries including Retail & Consumer, Industrial Products & Business Services, Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences, Energy Utilities & Mining, Technology, Infocomms, Entertainment & Media and Hospitality & Leisure. We're specialists within the markets we operate in.

The role is to assist and conduct audits for our clients as a senior member of the audit team. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of your engagements and ensuring the high quality of your team’s audit work and reporting. You will also lead and coach your team members, and manage relationships with senior level clients. More broadly, you will also contribute to the running of our business unit, including business and people development.

The person will have overall responsibility to deliver service to clients including:
  • Managing a client portfolio and reporting to the Partner / Director Group

  • Managing and supervising staff to junior staff and its delivery to the client

  • Managing the day to day client relationships

  • Staff management and coaching responsibilities

  • Development new business relationship and generating revenue

  • Auditing the assurance process using state of the art analytical tools and practice methodologies.

  • Expected to develop industry and technical expertise in assurance and business advisory areas through written reports and management presentations, managing multiple relationships ensuring customer satisfaction through high quality service deliverables.

You will gain experience across a wide variety of markets and industry sectors including, real estate, leisure, media, technology, construction retail and mining.

As part of the assurance team you will work primarily on audit engagements, however, there are increasing opportunities to get involved with other related activity to provide a greater breadth of experience.

Essential skills:
  • ACA or equivalent qualification and solid post qualification experience

  • Experience operating at Senior Manager in a similar environment

  • Experience of working on IFRS engagements as well as UK GAAP (experience of other accounting frameworks an advantage)A passion for delivering exceptional client service

  • Proven ability to lead audit engagements from planning to completing on a diverse range of assignments

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances

  • Experience of developing teams through coaching

  • Strong project management and organisational skill.

  • Strong team-working skills

  • An ability to innovate and add value to clients and projects

  • Demonstrated continual personal development in both technical and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrate professional scepticism Proven track record of compliance with quality standards and an ability to balance an efficient and compliant audit

  • An aptitude for embracing and adapting to new technology

  • A proven ability to manage and monitor engagement budgets and financial performance

  • Ability to spot opportunities to add value to clients and work with colleagues in other lines of service to help clients find solutions to the challenges they face

  • Ability to work to tight timelines and manage well under pressure

  • Be able to work flexibly in relation to locations and alongside flexible working colleagues

  • Experience of fee negotiations and negotiating scope changes with clients

Desirable skills:
  • Knowledge of International Accounting Standards and/or US GAAP would be an advantage

  • Strong team-working skills

  • Desire for continuous improvement

  • Highly developed listening and questioning techniques
