Legal Senior Associate
Who we are
PwC Operate is an exciting new business which provides managed service solutions to many of the firm's leading clients, primarily in the banking and financial services sector. We are seeking to recruit a number of Senior Associates to assist businesses comply with the new IFRS 16 Regulations through interpretation of their various leases, which now need to be reflected within the balance sheet.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for highly-motivated individuals who will undertake compliance tasks on our client/internal projects. As a senior associate, working in a fast paced, dynamic environment, your typical responsibilities are likely to include:
Interpretation of legal documents, in particular leases to include identifying key facts, anomalies and data points etc;
Extracting and collation of these key data points from legal documentation using carefully chosen review software;
Checking legal documentation for quality, consistency and content;
Working closely to a specific client brief and adapting approach where necessary on a project by project basis;
Keeping up to date project trackers and logs;
Utilising industry knowledge and expertise to advise and guide teams and clients throughout this review process;
Working with our dedicated technology team to further develop and maximise the use and efficiency of our chosen software;
Contributing fully to the day to day life of a fast paced and highly reactive team to include providing business development support to the management team.
Applicants should ideally have the following:
Minimum 2:1 degree in a legal/compliance subject
Candidates with 2:2 degrees, or who have relevant experience and/or qualifications, may also be considered
Any additional accounts knowledge or qualifications would also be highly beneficial.
Fluency in a second language with an ability to translate documents into English would also be desirable but not essential.
Previous legal services work experience within a legal and/or paralegal role would be advantageous but not essential
Previous documentation review experience using platforms such as Relativity, Seal, etc would also be highly advantageous
Ability to apply a logical and analytical approach to work
Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under tight deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow direction
Self-starter and motivated to succeed
Professionally sceptical mind-set
Proven ability to be a team player, while retaining ability to work independently with little supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on collaborative working and relationship building
Aptitude for learning new systems and IT applications
Ability to interpret legal documentation
Ability to analyse large amounts of information for the purposes of identifying underlying key issues and their broader implications.

Where will you be based?
The role will be based in Belfast; however as a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be asked to work in other locations within the UK and beyond. Your desire and ability to do this will be discussed as part of the recruitment process. Candidates who are unable or do not wish to work on projects in other locations will still be considered.
