Consulting Risk and Quality Business Advisor
This is an opportunity for a talented, self-motivated individual to develop their skill set and network in PwC, working with experienced R&Q practitioners and Consulting engagement teams across a range of issues. The role of business advisor will include contact with partners and staff of all grades across Consulting, as well as other parts of the firm including Independence, Compliance, the Office of General Counsel and the R&Q teams in other LoS.

Understanding of the types of work delivered in Consulting and a desire to learn more about new services.
Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to provide practical support to partners and staff of all grades in Consulting.

An individual who is resilient in difficult situations and able to cope with tight deadlines, difficult people situations and constant change.
A person comfortable with not always having the right answer, but is willing to consult.
The Consulting R&Q team (currently c. 25 FTEs headed by the Consulting R&Q Partner Kate Litchfield) advises client-facing staff on internal risk management matters.
The Manager will work as a key part of this team with a broad range of activities and responsibilities which will include contact with partners and staff of all grades across Consulting, with a focus on the Government and Health Industries Cluster as well as other parts of the firm including Independence, Compliance, the Office of General Counsel and the Risk & Quality teams in other LoS.
This role will have a broad range of activities including:
Being the first point of contact for queries from client facing staff and providing pragmatic advice and solutions to their R&Q queries.
Proactively providing support to teams pursuing larger, or more complex opportunities (e.g. cross-border working, technology engagements)
Working with other team members to deliver other services to the business, such as supporting on acquisitions..
Delivering training to partners and staff, including one-to-one training and seminar based training, in relation to R&Q
Negotiating with clients alongside OGC with regard to contracting challenges
Participate in sector meetings including pipelines in order to enable proactive R&Q involvement - as advisors.
Support and facilitate knowledge sharing within the Consulting R&Q team
Essential skills needed for the role
Some understanding of R&Q - an appreciation of the types of risk we need to help the business to manage.
Empathy with the pressures and motivations of client facing colleagues and an ability to provide pragmatic advice without compromising on “non-negotiables”
Ability to build relationships based on trust and respect with clients and colleagues alike
Ability to communicate clearly and with self-confidence to all levels of partners and staff, including at the most senior levels.
Capable of analysing documents whilst giving competent, accurate and pragmatic advice
A conscientious team player, with good self-management skills and the ability to expand existing relationships and create opportunities for cross team collaboration
Desirable but not essential:
Experience of working in a Consulting client facing role.
Experience of working in a Compliance and/or risk management environment.
Organisational and project management skills.
