PwC are looking for a passionate, innovative and commercially minded individual to join our Assessment team within HC. The successful person will support the team to deliver rigorous and fit-for-purpose assessment processes that exceed the expectations of our stakeholders and enable us to deliver the very best talent to our firm, in support of its growth ambitions.

Working alongside a chartered occupational psychologist and practitioner in training, this role offers the opportunity for you to apply your knowledge of assessment and further develop expertise in the area of selection and assessment, in an environment where there is a genuine focus on career progression exists.

Together with our recruitment teams, the Assessment team consults with and advises the business on suitable assessments for use in selection. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation and delivery of these solutions to the business. The is an internal-facing role that is based in London, although supports the business and teams nationally

You will need to have an MSc in Occupational Psychology and certificate in occupational ability testing and, ideally, personality testing. You should have good knowledge of assessment and selection for recruitment, strong organisational skills and high attention to detail. You will have good written and oral communication skills as you will be required to interact with candidates, recruiters and the business, including some senior individuals. An ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and complex environment is very important. Strong skills in statistical and data analysis and wide knowledge of the assessment market is a must.

About the role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operational tasks of the Assessment Services team, supporting two other psychologists to deliver solutions to the experienced and student recruitment teams in the UK. You will get involved in all aspects of assessment design, from conducting simple job analysis to bespoking individual assessments, as well as developing other materials which form part of the selection process. Alongside this, you will get involved in candidates assessments, e.g. group assessing and psychometric testing, assessment report production, management of assessment materials, handling of candidate and business queries and the management of requests for reasonable adjustments from candidates.

Specifically, in this role you'll be responsible for:

  • Dealing with a high volume of enquiries and requests from key stakeholders, recruiters and the business; quickly turning these around

  • Managing candidate requests for reasonable adjustments in our selection processes

  • Wider team-based responsibilities include supporting candidate assessments (e.g. group assessing), contributing to the team’s test administration needs and generating reports for line managers and candidates, as well as assessment material control.

  • Supporting the design of bespoke assessment exercises for use with particular roles within the business.

  • Drawing on your knowledge of assessments to provide advice to recruiters and assessors, as well as supporting the running of training sessions.

  • Supporting additional projects when necessary to roll out best practice and fit for purpose, innovative assessment processes and methodologies.

Role requirements

The following skills are required for this role:

Essential criteria:

  • MSc in Occupational Psychology or equivalent

  • BPS Occupational Testing certificate for test users: Ability (formerly Level A)

  • Knowledge of assessment for selection

  • Experience of assessment design

  • An understanding of the recruitment process, including validation and statistical analysis

  • Knowledge of disability and diversity issues in assessment

  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong skills in statistical and data analysis (e.g. SPSS (or equivalent), Advanced MS Excel: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)

Desirable criteria:

  • BPS Occupational Testing certificate for test users: Personality (formerly Level B)

  • Experience or knowledge of volume recruitment and candidate pipeline management

  • Knowledge of legal and best practice issues surrounding recruitment and assessment
