About The Role
The BRS Sales and Marketing team (SMT) helps client facing teams to win work through a focus on building strong client relationships and external profile.
As a Business Development Manager your focus will be to design and deliver the right strategy to inspire client facing teams. We want them to execute their business development in the most efficient and effective way; to help us win work, build relationships and raise our profile in the market..
This role will report into the Senior BD Manager for BRS. This role does not have any direct reports.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead BD efforts for the biggest restructuring practice in the UK, and will focus on ensuring that we generate opportunities following all our major marketing activity - from large events to campaigns. You’ll also run BD coaching for our senior leaders and our rising stars to help them to develop a strong external presence.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop new propositions in conjunction with the BRS Origination Unit, a team of analysts look for opportunities, by tracking company finances and market intelligence to predict which companies may fall into distress.
Relationships are key in this role and managing and building on them across such a large stakeholder group will be an important success factor.
Essential skills needed for the role:
Experienced individual of graduate calibre with strong experience in business development and proposal coaching.
Self-starter but able to work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent project management skills.
Proactive with a positive ‘can do’ approach.
Emotional intelligence and an ability to flex style to the situation.
- A sound business understanding as well as being commercially and risk aware.
- Strong knowledge of relationship/sales methodology and proven experience in driving opportunities through to revenue.
- Experience of managing diverse senior stakeholder groups
Desirable skills sought for the role:
Experience in professional services preferred, but not essential.
Understanding of business recovery desirable, but not essential.
Creative and innovative approach, with evidence of using this to develop new propositions within a professional services role or similar environment.
An expert understanding of targeting and opportunity management with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives.
