The PwC Legal Network is a member of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) international network of firms. We are a thriving business consisting of over 42 Partners and Directors and nationally over a team of 400 working within the Legal Network. As well as project-based, specialist legal advice, we offer our clients ongoing general counsel support. The Commercial Disputes Team sits within the Regulatory & Commercial Disputes practice and is one of PwC Legals’ most highly regarded and fastest growing practice groups. Our clients include numerous household names, MNCs and listed groups, privately owned companies across a range of sectors and private client matters. The work we undertake is often high profile and cross-border in nature and often involves other legal teams in the PwC international network. Our teams often work with other professionals from within PwC to deliver a comprehensive and integrated service to our clients.

About the role

This role will involve general and commercial litigation, international arbitration and other modes of dispute resolution (such as mediation). We are looking for a solicitor with 1 + years PQE gained in a well-regarded city law firm in London to join this busy, friendly team and to help support its continued expansion.

This is a hands on role and our Senior Associate will be fully integrated into the team and will work closely with lawyers of all levels.

Like the rest of our team, we expect those in this role will enjoy an interesting, varied and challenging workload.

The successful candidate should have experience in:-

  • Finance and Banking Litigation

  • Corporate & Commercial Litigation

  • Shareholder & Trust Litigation

  • Pensions Litigation

  • Insolvency & Restructuring

  • Enforcement of Judgments and asset tracing

  • Cyber and data protection disputes

  • Interim Relief applications including experience of obtaining Freezing Orders and Search & Seizure Orders

Instructions can vary from substantial matters which require a number of fee earners to small matters which are predominately run by junior lawyers who will take day to day responsibility of matters, subject to supervision, guidance and oversight by the Senior Manager & Partner.

Who we’re looking for
Essential Skills:
  • Applicants must be UK qualified and have a strong academic background. We would expect at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent)

  • Excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style both in writing and in person

  • Extremely thorough in their approach;

  • Fluency in spoken and written English; clear, articulate and confident in written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to assist in managing a busy client portfolio in a general commercial disputes practice dealing with large, complex and cross border matters

  • Interest and experience in business development, including document production such as production of brochures, preparing notes for seminars and presentations

  • A high level of computer literacy, including excellent typing skills, a good working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and legal databases

  • Well organised and able to deal with large amounts of information

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Primarily a team player but also able to complete specified tasks under own initiative

  • Ability to adapt and be flexible

  • Highly driven and proactive

  • Respect for confidential information
