Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join the successful Russian/CIS Private Client team in London Region Tax based in Embankment Place.

Our team advises Russian / CIS clients who have connections to the UK (in the form of a residence, family, property, business etc) or require our expertise on international tax structuring matters. Our aim is seamless client service, from complex tax planning to compliance, often as "Trusted Advisor" to our clients.

Your clients are likely to include Russian/CIS families, entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals. Whilst our focus is on the individuals, we also advise them in connection with their businesses and investment vehicles which could be trusts, companies or partnerships. You will be encouraged to shape and actively manage your career and will be actively supported in the area(s) of the private client market within which you work or specialise.

Key Skills and requirements for the role:
  1. Strong knowledge of Russian and international tax structuring issues;

  2. Knowledge of principles of the UK tax system;

  3. Knowledge of both personal and corporate structure issues;

  4. Practical experience in a Big 4 firm in the UK and/or Russia of 3-5 years;

  5. Native Russian speaker;

  6. Strong analytical skills;

  7. Strong project management skills;

  8. Integrity;

  9. Good communication skills.

The role:

This is an opportunity to join our Russian / CIS private client tax team that focuses on providing tax consulting and compliance services to HNWIs from Russia/CIS region.

Our team is experiencing fast growth and hence there is a need for a SA who could assist with all phases of a consultancy/compliance project, including:

  • Business development (aimed at clients and intermediaries, such as

  • bankers, lawyers, family offices, organisation and attendance of BD events)

  • Preparation of proposals

  • Preparation and attendance of client meetings

  • Analysis of legislation

  • Development of structuring recommendations

  • Preparation of deliverables

  • Compliance work

  • Cooperation with colleagues from PwC UK, foreign offices, client advisors and family offices

  • Billing

  • Follow up etc.

The role is client facing and involves interaction with successful entrepreneurs and investors from Russia/CIS.

Our Russian/CIS team is part of the International Wealth Team, which is one of the fastest growing and priority teams within our Private Client / Private Business unit.

The person will support of a team of 5 dedicated people focusing on Russia/CIS, including a partner, director, senior manager, manager and SA. There will be opportunities to work with a wider team on clients not necessarily from Russia/CIS. There will be constant exposure to work with senior members of the team.
